JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In Uppvidinge, we work with commitment and collaboration to provide the best possible service to the municipality's residents. We are now looking for a Water and Sewage Engineer/Officer for our Water and Sewage Department at the Technical Administration, an important role in our work to ensure a safe and sustainable water and sewage supply.

As a Water and Sewage Engineer, you are a key person within the water and sewage operations and involved in several of the processes for which the water and sewage authority is responsible.

Your role includes, among other things:

• Managing water and sewage connections for new constructions and calculating connection fees.
• Informing and guiding customers as well as establishing customer agreements.
• Processing cases regarding water consumption and ensuring that connections comply with applicable requirements.
• Investigating and handling claims for damages related to the municipality's water and sewage facilities.
• Administering and invoicing water and sewage fees and making assessments according to the Water Services Act, the Water and Sewage Tariff, and general regulations (ABVA).
• Collaborating with property owners, businesses, operational staff, and other municipal departments.

In addition to these tasks, other assignments may become relevant, and based on your experience and interests, there are opportunities to develop your role.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic education in water and sewage, environmental science, urban planning, law, or other relevant education or experience.
• Experience in water and sewage, urban planning, law, or a related field.
• The ability to work in a structured manner, take responsibility, and drive processes forward.
• A strong sense of service and the ability to adapt your communication to the recipient and situation.
• An interest in legislation and investigation as well as a habit of seeking information and solving complex issues.
• Experience with customer contact and an understanding of municipal operations and finance.
• Good knowledge of the Water Services Act, the Planning and Building Act, or the Environmental Code is an advantage.

You express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
